Since moving our caravan to Elford we wanted to use a local servicing company rather than tow our caravan.
From the first engagement with Steve at Northumbria Mobile Caravan Services we were impressed with his professional manner and was very transparent with his pricing. He arrived on time, fully explained his approach and what he will do and why. We found both him very professional and friendly, working methodically and diligently. I was shocked that he discovered 2 critical matters that should have been identified by an award winning caravan service company. One matter was our gas regulator was 20 years out of date. Some may argue that it is only necessary to change if faulty, but at a replacement cost of £10 it is not worth the risk. More importantly, I appreciated Steve’s explanation and given the opportunity to decide. He finished on time, clearly explained his inspection report and matters that will need to be addressed in the future, and how to reduce moisture. I cannot fault his service and his value for money work.

Our first service today with Steve and found him to be very pleasant and helpful and best of all, knowledgeable about his profession.
Our caravan has been serviced by both dealer and other independent service engineers over the past six years and Steve highlighted one or two items that perhaps haven't been checked as thoroughly as I had been led to believe by some previous service personnel.
It is reassuring that Steve takes a pride in his approach towards providing an apparent first class service and I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Being new to caravanning I was a little uncertain in trusting a complete stranger to service our van.
Steve arrived right on time & although we had never met before, his very friendly attitude and professional manner put us at ease immediately. Steve got straight to work and had finished within the time he told me it would take. He then took us through the report & explained in simple terms the outcome. We had a couple of problems & began to worry about the total bill, however we needn't have as it was very reasonable.
I would have no qualms in recommending Steve to anyone who needs their caravan serviced.

We have just had our much loved Buccaneer Caribbean caravan serviced by Steve Wood of Northumbria Mobile Caravan Services, Blyth. Unfortunately, due to ill health we are having to sell the caravan and wanted to make sure that, although in excellent condition, it was serviced and checked over before sale. We contacted him via his website and he responded by telephone within the hour and made an appointment. On the day, he arrived 15 minutes early, looking smart and professional. From the outset it was obvious that what Steve didn't know about caravans was not worth knowing, and he proceeded to thoroughly service and check the caravan working for a total of 4 hours. It was so convenient having him do the work at my home, saving me time, effort and money taking it to a dealer and I could see everything which was being done and was consulted and kept informed the whole time. I would have no hesitation in recommending Steve to anyone wishing to have any caravan work

Steve carried out a comprehensive and excellent service on our motorhome. He was very flexible and willing to carry out the service on a storage site and check out additional concerns we had. After the service Steve took us around the parts he had worked on and highlighted a number of safety points we needed to be aware of in the future. We have recently purchased our first motorhome and requested a habitation check from Steve. We received excellent service, he rang to tell us he would be delayed a little but would be with us as soon as possible, he arrived ten minutes later. Professional, efficient, courteous and friendly he supplied information every step of the way and went the ‘ extra mile ‘ to explain everything including the barrage of questions we asked. Two problems discovered and we were immediately informed. One was a problem with the gas regulator and Steve was able to provide and fit an immediate replacement after discussing and agreeing the extra cost. He supplied a reliable contact for replacement of the other small problem, a light cover. Steve advised fitting a carbon monoxide detector and informed us of the cost which we agreed to. A completed check list, habitat service sticker, gas sticker and key ring were supplied on completion. Steve completed a thorough check and we will certainly be contacting him next year for more of the same and have no hesitation in recommending him.

I would like to place on record my thanks for the work you carried recently on my caravan. The service was done with real care and attention to detail. You even spotted that the battery which works the ignition on my space heater was missing ( I remember having trouble fixing it last year and gave up in the end). The battery was replaced free of charge. Other important items, such as cracks in the road tyres were brought to my attention, and have since been replaced. Other little things that you found and explained to me proved that this was not just a ‘box-ticking’ exercise, as I suspect it was with my previous service engineers! I certainly would recommend other caravan owners requiring a service to give you a ring immediately. In short, a first-class service at a very competitive price!!

I have caravanned for many years and always had to tow my caravan to a service provider, then come back later to pick it up, not knowing what they have done or even if it had been done to the correct standard. When I decided to contact Steve Wood it was hassle free at the same price and easily arranged around the times I was available. The whole process was easy, professional and customer focused with Steve taking you through every step of the service. He made sure that any issues or concerns were clearly explained with suggestions on how to correct any problems. After only 2 days after the service I have already passed his details onto friends so they can also benefit from Steve’s Caravan technical knowledge. Will be booking Steve again next year!

Today I had a service carried out by Steve and I can safely say a more thorough guy I have yet to meet. Not only did he carry out a full habitation check, he also he also helped refit my rear full width mud flap which entailed a lot of drilling and bolting, corrected all my tyre pressures and even replaced my dog eared LPG sticker. Last Boxing Day I had an emergency repair that I needed doing as I was going on holiday the following day.
Steve obliged no problem. I decided to use him for my annual service in June this year. I’m pleased I did as he made a good job of it, doing things that had been missed on previous services by the main dealer. He was very thorough & explained all the issues that needed attention, the other big advantage is that he does the service wherever your caravan is stored. I’ll have no hesitation in getting Steve to do my future services.

Excellent service from Steve. I've owned my caravan for less than a year and didn't know what to expect. I'd made a list of things that I knew were not right with the van but Steve had a comprehensive checklist and picked up on all of these points anyway. The service lasted over 3 hours and no stone was left unturned and I was talked through step by step what was being checked and why. I was really grateful for the cups of coffee Steve was giving me as it was 1 degree outside and there was snow on the ground but this didn't affect their working practice in the slightest.
I found Steve very approachable and I would strongly recommend this company to anyone.

It started with a thought that we had not used our caravan for some time and wanted to get away straight after Christmas. We thought that it might be too late as it was only 8 days to Christmas. We sent a text message to Steve and he kindly returned with a telephone call. We made arrangements for him to come to our home and service the caravan and complete some repairs that we thought we might need. Steve arrived just before the agreed time and set about servicing the caravan. They had arranged for a tyre fitter to attend so the tyres could be changed too. Steve very thorough and pointed out all the things that needed to be sorted before carrying out the repairs. Nothing was too much trouble and they consulted us at each and every stage. It was pointed out to them that we had some pimpling and bubbling to the off side of the van and they explained that it was damp. Steve climbed up and had a look and explained that the side panel had a crack in it, he cleaned the area up and sealed it to make it water tight - he did not charge us for this work either!!
We have to say that a nicer pair of lads you could not wish to meet. Polite, professional and the van was left nice and clean. They moved the van out onto the drive, completed all the work and put the van back where they got it from. We would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone. We will be keeping their number for any trips we make into Northumbria, one of our favorite parts of the world. As far as we are concerned, we could never see the point of taking our van to anyone else. Why go to the workshop, when you can bring the workshop to you.
We wish we had used these a long time ago instead of dragging it to a workshop. Great job!!

I had my caravan serviced today by Steve. The reason for getting them to do it was a recommendation from a friend. What can I say, they arrived on time and promptly got stuck in to my caravan not rushing - just a fantastic caring methodical service everything checked noted reported to myself. As I am a new to caravanning Steve showed me what to do with everything, heater, fridge, cooker, electrics - literally nothing was too much bother and no corner was left untried and untested. Steve showed me where a couple of damp spots were and photographed them and told me what to get to solve the problem, just some sealer on the roof and awning rail. The service was fabulous!!
I will be using NMCS all the time, they are the tops and what he quoted was what I paid.

This is the first time we have used Northumbria Mobile Caravan Services. Steve came to our home to carry out the annual service on our 13-year-old twin axle caravan. All work was carried out as per schedule. A few things were identified as needing attention - a couple were done then and there, and a couple they came back to sort at a time convenient to all. They were genuine issues, none of your dealer 'deep-intake-of-breath-stuff' which can sometimes happen. What was really good was that you can see the work being done and you can see that parts identified for change really have been changed. Will use again next year! |

Our caravan which is now entering its 14th year has been serviced every year. For many years serviced by a Caravan Dealer and for the last 3 years by another mobile caravan services. We did not want to use our previous mobile service engineer and we're delighted to be recommended Steve by one of our friends. Steve arrived promptly & he & his father did an excellent job with our van.
